    The One Guy says:

Our first definite proof that there are males with magic (and presumably male sprites).

    LockeZ says:

Wasn’t it already established that all sprites and all human magic-users are female? Like, that is the entire reason Luke turned into Luna, no?

I guess that means that this guy is something else. Like Mr. Bax. Who is also male, by the way, but not humanoid so I guess he doesn’t count as “a boy.”

    Tolka says:

no, no. perhaps I muddled it a bit. but there are male magic users as well as male sprites. there just different elements generally and operate with different methods.

the luna situation is a case of a male entering a pact with a female spirit.

The whole gender specific thing is kind of silly, Only specific genders can use specific magics. Seperatisim sucks. But, then again I’m more of an equal opportunity character creator…although I won’t stoop to the level of CHUCK by making the character male in in gender only. Seriously am I the only one who as seen the show and thinks that Chuck acts like a girl? And now “Men of a certain age” with grown men in their late 40′s and early 50′s talking about “I’m too old, I’m too fat. My but hurts.” I swear, they all need to grow a pair of pendular sweet breads. And, I expect Luke/Luna to man it up every once in a while, otherwise there would be no way to tell he was ever a male to begin with.

oh, and yu-gi-oh looks like a twelve year old girl. I suggest you make it so that is appearance is a glamor spell to make him look bishi or whatever the term is.

Actauily this Male and Female magic setup reminds me in a way sort of what is going on in the Wheel of Time story.

    Tolka says:

think of it this way. magic, in the human sense. comes from forming a link with a spirit. so a female will have an easier time linking to a female spirit, and a male with a male one. there are exceptions, but generally there you go.

im kinda surprised there was confusion about the male sprites, the only thing i had assumed was they were few and relatively mean spirited, meaning they would ask alot for any use of there magics while female spirites would generally be easier to deal with, aside from that i think you hit a good idea for your fundraiser i REALLY want to see new world again so i will have no choice but to donate d*** you and your evil ways

Well…. To kind of back up what Tolka said. I don’t think it is sexism that certain spirits attach to females. I don’t exactly attribute genders to spirits since well… they are spirits and sometimes don’t necessarily have a body. However, if a spirit is aligned in a female-like orientation it might be best for that spirit to connect to a female human. Consider that frequent connections with a spirit tend to rub off on the human (see Tix) and thus if you did have a spirit that was aligned with a different gender then that can most certainly end up very awkward for the human as aspects begin to rub off. We could even use Luke as an example and he only had a brief encounter with a moon spirit. Connecting with a moon spirit more often or channeling a moon spirits powers could have even more ahem side effects. Its likely safe to assume that there are male-like spirits that are aligned with males but the abilities that those spirits have would differ than female-like spirits that are aligned with females. There are witches and there are warlocks or at least thats kinda how I look at it.

    Vip says:

I thought the whole thing about female linking to female sprites and Males linking to male ones was clear from the beginning. The girls just didn’t know any male ones to link luke to or the kind of magic that goes with it. But I’m sure its been theorized on the comments before. So some of us got it :D

    Xel The Author says:

Personally I hope there are some rare genderless spirits out there that could link up with eather gender.

And Tolka isn’t evil in his comic war ways… He’s just being smart in getting our money! :P

Sorry for the dubble post, but I just recalled another point I’ll like to make. I wonder what the sharp teeth thing’s deeper meaning be. It makes me deeply wonder about what evil act had happed to her.

    Vip says:

Xel: the interesting thing is that it seems to be Spooks father that went through some sort of ordeal that is linked to her having magic.

Anyway, the bad guys seem to be revealed, and it seems to be confirmed that Luna is probably more than just a human, being called Selena’s daughter. Could the supposed male leader who the underling refers to be the reason why Selena seems to have some sorta beef against males? What is this interest in a Daughter of Selena. :) And I don’t think they know that Luna used to be a guy, so will someone try to put the moves on Luna?

  15. avatar
    MercenaryX says:

Oh, this guy knows Luna is a Guy, he makes it so much clear in the way he says him or he. Then there’s the idea of him being the villian, Vip, I’m sure you might be wrong tere, but I can see the bit about maybe Selena might have done what she has done to Luke to other males in the past because of a sperned lover or something to that extent.

I’m just making a point that theres more here then we might ever know. But then I’m also thinking about how much Tix and Nicolie might be forcing both Tokala and Luke/Luna into super hot bekinies, I know I might pay money for that.

    MercenaryX says:

Opps, just re-read the last page there with the male guy there, Looks like he was speaking about some other person, but I figure he must know that Luna might have been human, which gender is up for debate for any one of them for this guy to know. If not, then it might be just he only sees Selena’s mark on Luke/Luna.

And sorry about this double post as well, but you know there is bad news of this other person this guy is talking about might do some bad things to anyone to has the missfortuine of being Selena’s daughter.

I wonder how offten in history this has happened? And will we see anyone coming to Luke/Luna’s rescue if said bad guy wants to do bad things to Luke/Luna. If so I wonder what advice she’ll give her younger sister about how to now deal with his/her missing Y chromasion?
